DriveOhio serves as the state’s hub for smart mobility, working closely with the Ohio Department of Transportation to develop and deploy advanced automated transportation solutions. To achieve this, DriveOhio integrated an intelligence-first video security solution into its transportation network. Intelligent cameras equipped with edge-based video analytics were deployed along highways, off-ramps, and smart corridors. The system autonomously detects slow traffic, stopped vehicles, and wrong-way drivers, instantly triggering digital message boards to warn upstream motorists and alerting traffic management centers to coordinate a rapid response.

By transforming video data into real-time spatial and contextual understanding, the solution allows operators to move from reactive monitoring to proactive incident management. This continuous flow of actionable insight reduces congestion, protects vulnerable road users, and provides leaders with the clarity required to shape the future of safe, efficient mobility.
